I'm a sucker for ~~the kind word~~ concerts.

Any band that comes to KL, if I listen to them, I will go watch them live.
Copeland was definitely no exception. Especially since it was part of their Farewell Tour.

I've always preferred piano-rock bands and I have never been for a concert like that so this was definitely a treat for me.

I went with Philip and Joan and we reached JUST IN TIME for Copeland. We saw them entering the hall and going backstage. Apparently they had just landed from Indonesia. Talk about dedication to their fans!

Copeland came out surprisingly much earlier then their allocated time slot at 8pm.

They even did their sound checking in front of the audience, talking and saying hi to the crowd, asking 'why was it so quiet'. I think everyone was just in awe watching them sound check. They seemed so down to earth.

Once everything was settled, they started off with Priceless.

It was a very small crowd but the crowd were definitely hardcore Copeland fans as they knew lyrics to almost every single song.

They played all of my favorite songs such as Take Care, Chin Up, Sleep, Pin Your Wings, No One Really Wins, The Day I Lost My Voice and of course You Have My Attention. On the Safest Ledge was supposed to be in the set list but they crossed it off :(

They were such humble and sincere guys. Even though they were super tired you could tell that they really wanted to put on a good show for their fans in KL.

Almost after song was over, someone in the audience would shout "Don't break up!" but Aaron just ignored. It was such a bittersweet moment.

The saddest part had to be towards the end, when it was time for the final song Aaron said a few words to the crowd and he then said "Thank you for coming, we've been Copeland."

My heart sank. It was so painful to hear that but it was such a sweet moment to know how far they've come and realise how many fans they actually have here in KL.

And to pinch my heart even more, they ended with You Have My Attention. By the time the song was done, I had tears in my eyes. It was so amazing.

Despite them being so tired, they still did a meet and greet with their fans, signing posters and taking pictures with all their fans.

By far the nicest musicians ever.

Thank you Copeland for making some amazing music that I have ever heard.

Truly, you have had my attention.

Here's a secret, I knew the setlists to all the concerts I was going too because of this website :P

This is a really late post since the concert was exactly a week ago.
But I have just been so busy with assignments and I'm still not done :(

Anyway,

Stereophonics came down to KL and performed at KL live last Wednesday.

I went with Yaya as usual. She's like my new concert kaki but she's ditching Copeland -__-

I actually am not that big a fan of theirs but when I started downloading more of their songs, I realised that I knew the songs but I just didn't know it was Stereophonics!

I love the idea of them selling booze right before the concert starts.

Everyone was just hanging our drinking beers and listening to cool indie tunes the dj was spinning. At one point everyone was even singing and dancing along to The Killers, Mr Brightside. Hearing the crowd sing gave me chills and made me really sad to knowing that The Killers aren't together anymore :(

At about 9pm, the lights went down and Stereophonics took the stage. The crowd went absolutely crazy. They started with Live n Love which is by far one of my most favourite songs from them.

They literally did not stop playing one song after another. They played songs like A Thousand Trees, Maybe Tomorrow, Trouble, I Got Your Number and She's Alright where Yaya and I would be belting out the chorus. Even if they did stop, it was just to say a few words and then carry on with the set. When they played Mr Writer, I honestly had tears in my eyes. It was beautiful.

The sound of their music errupted throughout the whole venue which was an amazing feeling to be standing right there in the crowd and feeling the music all around you. Whenever Kelly Jones opened his mouth, hitting all those notes, I swear I got the chills.

The best song of the night had to be the last which was Dakota. The crowd was jumping and singing at the top of their lungs! All proclaiming the same line "I don't know where we are going now". Amazing. I still get goosebumps every time I re-watch the video I recorded. They played a solid 2 hour setlist with 24 songs which covered every single possible hit of theirs.

They were probably one of the best acts to ever hit KL and this concert is definitely one for the books.

So Paramore was last weekend.
I can honestly say it was the BEST concert I have ever been too.

We didn't really bother much on going early since we got numbered seats.

But we definitely wanted to be there early enough to get some merchandise.

The Paramore shirt is gorgeous! I've already worn mine twice this week :p

thing I have to give props to Singapore for, when they say the concert starts at 8, it DOES start at 8.
At 8pm on the dot, the lights dimmed and the opening band Monochrome took the stage.

Personally, I didn't care much for them. The lead singer basically shouted and screamed throughout the whole set. Only the bassist and lead guitarist were good.

Finally about half an hour later, they left the stage. The black backdrop dropped and revealed the name of the band that everyone came to see. The moment on of the technicians came out to put Haley's mic on the stand, the crowd went wild!
Even that they were screaming for, imagine during the concert.

Finally, the lights went down again and Taylor ♥ walked unto the stage first strumming the intro for Ignorance.

Haley was like a firecracker throughout the whole set! She was running around the stage, jumping, headbanging and dancing while still singing perfectly in tune and hitting every note.

There was no one who was at the seating area seated. They were standing throughout the whole thing! Everyone was jumping around so much even the ground below was shaking.

The highlights were probably when they performed That's What You Get, Misery Business, Brick By Boring Brick, Decode, Where The Lines Overlap and The Only Exception. The crowd singing along just gave me goosebumps and I actually ended up with tears in my eyes after that song.

The only complaint of the concert would be that it was too short. It went on for about an hour or slightly more. But they managed to play 14 songs in an hour only because they didn't stop! They just kept on going!

Yea an hour set definitely does sound like a waste. Well, if I weren't there, I probably would have said the same thing. But you HAD to be there to know why it was THAT amazing even after such a short set.

We Were Born For This.

I finally have the urge to blog about Singapore :)

Last weekened, Mun, Yaya, Din, Syadil, Nazmi and myself went down to Singapore to catch Paramore!

Somehow concerts in Singapore have a totally different feel than the ones in KL.

We left Saturday morning by car. The 4 hour drive was so uncomfortable as there were 8 of us in an Alphard. VERY LITTLE LEG ROOM.

We reached Singapore at about 3pm and checked into the most adorable hostel ever. Its located at Little India which is right in between of Orchard Road and Singapore Indoor Stadium.

Right after we checked in, we went to have lunch at Orchard and did a little shopping.

At night we went down to Clarke Quay as the guys wanted to check out Hooters.

Sorry to say, they were very disappointed with what they saw :p

We then went over to this little shisha place called Markesha. Yes, there is shisha in KL but what the hell! Its just one weekend in Singapore!

Then we bummed into Zach, Mike and Thomas and they were with a bunch of their Singaporean friends. After much persuasion from them, we went over to this place called Supper Club.

Love it :)

Hung around there until 3am before finally heading back to the hostel to sleep.

The next day, we headed back to Orchard to do a bit more shopping and then we went of to the concert.

We left for KL RIGHT AFTER the concert which was an ultimate killer especially for me.

Finally reached home at 5am, got ready and went for my 8am class :p

Paramore will be the next post because that concert DESERVES a post of its own.

It's 3.30 in the morning but I can't sleep.

I've been sick for the past 3 days so all I have been doing is sleeping at home.

Stupid fever and cough :(

So Singapore was so funnnnn!

Keean and Adrianna came along as well.

We left on a very rainy and cold Friday morning.

The moment we got there, we had lunch and straight away headed for Orchard road.

On Saturday we went back down to Orchard to walk around some more.
We went to Clarke Quay at night and had dinner at Hooters!
Haha, that place makes me laugh (:

After that, it was still early so we went to this very nice bar-type-place by the river and had wine with Rod Stewart in the background.

Oh I could just die there ♥

On Sunday, we just went around Singapore Plaza because it was the closest to the hotel.
At night, we went down to Esplande for Baybeats to see Anberlin!
They performed twice! One was an acoustic set and the other was their rock set.

They had an autograph session after the acoustic set so we got to meet the band. heehee

Stephen is super duper nice. Love ♥
Anberlin was amaaazzzinggggg! They are so goood liveeeee!

Totally worth the muddyness and my poor toes getting stepped on.

I've always liked the number 7.

I like that it's an odd number.

Not to mention my birthday is on the 7th of August.

Random fact;

Whenever I look at cd's, I always check out what is track number 7.
Like The Fray's, How To Save A Life album, song number 7 is one of my MOST FAVOURITE songs of all time,

I remember if there was something that I had to do which required a number, I'd always pick number 7 first.

I would be lying if I ever said I was a Michael Jackson fan from the first time I heard him sing.

Heck, I wasn't even born during the Jackson 5 era.

I wouldn't say I knew lyric by lyric but I swear I have heard every possible MJ song thanks to my mom who is a HUGE MJ fan.
